About Leon Wankum
I was one of the first financial economics students (M.S.c.) to write a thesis on Bitcoin. The thesis focused on how Bitcoin can protect individual freedom, help citizens in underdeveloped regions currently excluded from the existing financial system and its potential for the remittance market.
I previously encountered Bitcoin during a discussion about the Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises in my philosophy and ethics studies, I became interested in Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer decentralized electronic cash system.
This led me to study cryptocurrencies from the perspective of the Austrian School of Economics. I dove deep into all sorts of ideas, models and blockchains, but understood that overall, Bitcoin is paramount for me.
Today, I am active in real estate and venture capital. I specialize in developing Bitcoin strategies for real estate developers, which I share monthly in The Bitcoin Newsletter.
